For the last two years, I've co-led the student group Hack@Brown with my amazing friend Sharon. Our mission is to help all kinds of students discover the joy in making, and, along the way, find the confidence to learn and build awesome things.
In addition to hosting Brown's annual student hackathon, our team puts together regular student-led workshops on topics ranging from HTML/CSS to Animation, builds campus data APIs, and hosts Startup@Brown, an annual conference connecting students and startups.
I'll write much more about each team soon, but in the meantime, check out our recap video from last year:
We have a deep and sincere focus on making computer science accessible and non-intimidating, especially for women and minorities. We're proud to say that over 40% of attendees at Hack@Brown are women, and over 70% make it their first hackathon.
